Crisp Peanut Butter Cookies

I prefer my peanut butter cookies cake-like.  I’m not much of a crisp cookie fan at all really.  But I know there are people out there who can’t live without PB cookies, and I’m sure there are some of you who like them crisp.  So for you crispy folks out there, here is a great old recipe for crispy peanut butter cookies.  Maybe it should be called 1 cup cookies instead!

Crispy Peanut Butter Cookies

1 cup butter

1 cup sugar

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup Heinz peanut butter

1/2 cup milk – sweet or sour

2 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. vanilla

1/2 tsp. salt

3 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour

Cream butter, add sugar and cream well.  Add peanut butter and blend thoroughly, then add milk in which the soda has been stirred.  Add vanilla and salt, then add flour.  Chill and roll to 1/8 inch thickness.  Cut, place on a greased baking pan and bake in a moderate oven (375F.) for 15-20 minutes.
