Apple Sauce Pie

Obviously, we are on a fall theme here.

Fall in Amish country, Conewango Valley, NY

Apple sauce is something made in the fall.  And I really don’t think I know of anyone who doesn’t like it.  Making it is a breeze with your crock pot.  It doesn’t get more natural if you make it yourself, and you can make it without sugar, or with, spiced or not.  Chunky or smooth.  Lots of possibilities, especially here in Western New York where there never seems to be a shortage of wonderful apples.

This pie sounds quite delicious.  I would be ambitious and make some homemade applesauce for this, maybe with a few chunks in it.  It would definitely be a great pie for Thanksgiving, and certainly different that the normal pumpkin or apple pie that everyone is used to.  Be adventurous and try this one!

To make this delicious apple sauce pie fill a baked pastry shell with 2 cups of apple sauce flavored with 1 1/2 tsp. of vanilla.  Then whip 1 1/4 cups of cream, 1 tablespoon confectioners sugar and 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla.  Cover pie and serve.
