Festive Sahlen’s Hamballs

sahlensSahlen’s is a western New York staple.  Excellent hot dogs, great deli ham, and a myriad of other goodies.  Their skinless bun length dogs are a staple in my house during the summer.  Use their delicious deli ham if you can get your hands on it for this recipe.  Otherwise use a good quality deli meat of your choice.

Festive Sahlen’s Hamballs

1 cup Sahlen’s ham, chopped fine

6 hard cooked eggs, chopped

1 tablespoon minced chives

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1 1/3 cups chopped walnuts

Pepper to taste

Combine ham, eggs, chives, pepper, mayo and 2/3 cup walnuts.  Mix well and form into small balls.  Roll in remaining walnuts and chill.
