This marinade for beef would be wonderful served over noodles or rice. It is simple, easy, and would be a fairly pain-free dinner. Experiment with the marinade, adding ginger, sesame oil and some garlic for an Asian style beef for over rice. Use a sirloin steak or a similar tender cut of meat for this.
Slice meat in 1/4″ pieces. Cut green pepper into 1/4″ pieces. Combine in a bowl 3 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon sherrywine or wine vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon sugar, 1 teaspoon cornstarch and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Marinate meat for 3 or 4 hours. Remove from the sauce and brown. After browned, add the sauce to the pan and let simmer until tender.
